HISTORY

Virginia has a very interesting history, so lets learn about it! Virginia was one of the 13 original colonies. It became a state on June 25, 1788. At first there were loads of Native American tribes living here including the Powhatan, Cherokee, Croatian, and the Tuscan. But then just like other American states English Men came to Virginia and took the land from the Native Americans.

On the other hand, Virginia has very big bragging rights because Virginia is home to the very first president of the United Stated, George Washington! You can go see his house in Virginia! You can take a tour of the same house that our very first president of the United States lived in! Virginia has a very interesting history.
